Roastom getting approval for the South-Ural NPP project from Energy Ministry

Rosatom State Corporation is getting the Russian Ministry of Energy’s approval for the project to build the South-Ural NPP in the Chelyabinsk Region.

As reported by the regional administration’s press service, Sergey Kirienko, Rosatom’s director general, and Mikhail Yurevich, the governor of the Chelyabinsk Region, talked 15 November on the prospects of building a nuclear power plant near Ozersk.

According to the governor, this would help solve the problem of energy shortage in the region, create new jobs and bring in more revenues from extra taxation.
