JSC Electrogorsk Research and Engineering Center on Nuclear Power Plants Safety (EREC, a 100% affiliate of JSC Atomenergoprom) is completing works on installing automated process control system (APCS) for unit 1 of Busher NPP (Iran). The work is conducted within the framework of the APCS strategy, approved by the general contractor of the project, CJSC Atomstroyeksport and implemented during 1998 – 2009 period.

JSC EREC is conducting APCS turn-key commissioning works. The company participated in developing the project and software-hardware means testing concept, carried out integration testing at a testing site, coordinated manufacturing, procurement and commissioning of the equipment.

The APCS project was elaborated by JSC Atomenergoproekt (Moscow, 100% affiliate of Atomenergoprom). The project provides for the NPP unit display control method. It is a fully home-grown authentically licensed technology meeting all requirements of Nuclear Energy Regulations and successfully underwent a number of integral evaluations conducted by IAEA.

The JSC EREC’s APCS division with participation of the equipment suppliers has recently conducted adjustment within the framework of preparation for 250/110atm hydro-testing of 1 and 2 circuits and commissioned for pilot operation the following:

- top-level unit system and facility control desk operational dispatch management hardware;

- monitoring and control system of electric equipment, ventilation systems, reactor, turbine island and special building automatic fire protection system;

- process safety-related systems.

Besides this reactor specific systems are being adjusted.

These works are part of preparation for hot operational testing. JSC EREC is a real experiencer in development, procurement, testing, integration and commissioning of APCS at Busher 1 NPP.
